SQL and Data Handling for AI: Beginner

Level 0, topic 4 (part 1 of 2) of the BitByte AI path. Almost every AI system reads its training data, logs, users and documents from a database, and SQL is how you ask for them. This course teaches it from the very first table.

• Explain databases, DBMS, tables, primary and foreign keys and relationships, and read a schema
• Set up a practice database with SQLite and Python, and know how MySQL and PostgreSQL differ
• Query data with SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, LIMIT, LIKE, IN, BETWEEN and handle NULL correctly
• Create tables with the right types and constraints, and insert, update, delete and upsert rows safely
• Summarise data with functions, GROUP BY, HAVING and CASE WHEN to answer business questions
• Combine tables with INNER, LEFT, RIGHT, FULL, CROSS and self joins, subqueries, EXISTS and UNION, and avoid the duplicate-row trap

• A computer with Python 3.10 or newer; no database installation needed
